TBT to Sunday school in 2012
With our Sympathy .... Westminster wishes to extend our sympathy to the family of Elaine Stafford. Elaine passed away last month – she was a good friend of Marilynn DeStigters and had made countless beautiful Chrismons for the church Christmas tree over the years. We hope the family knows how special Elaine was to us and can feel our sympathy and prayers at this difficult time. Every year as we put those beautiful ornaments on the tree we will remember Elaine and her willingness to share her time and talents with us, helping us remember all the events depicted in their designs.
The “Ins and Outs” of Westminster ..... You will soon notice a change in the way you get Into and Out of the church parking lot for a while. The first part of the city’s plan to “rearrange and resurface” Glenn Ave. is set to begin soon. The first project will be to replace the roadway directly at the exit to our parking lot – basically the square formed where So Alice meets Larimer and our driveway. During this phase of the construction you will be able to get to church using the “temporary drive” the city will construct for us – you will need to approach this access road from Glenn Ave. The project will not only resurface the roadway but also address utilities under the street. Let that fun Road Construction Season begin !!!
Deacon Doings...04/14/2019 • Balance on hand $1098.40 (Pantry $352.41---Deacon’s $745.99) • No Home Communion visits in March – will catch up in April • Deacons voted to have a small Reverse Offering in May for coffee Kool-aid, cups and napkins since we are running low on these. • We discussed the fact that people are leaving clothes in the food pantry and how to handle it. We decided to post a sign asking for food items or personal care items only to be put in there. We also talked about having fresh produce available this summer because so many people have an abundance of garden items. • Erica shared a letter from Hospice asking for volunteers and we will look into having someone from Hospice present a minute for mission. • Deacons will participate in a hand washing service on Palm Sunday.
Sunday School wraps up for the Season .... Our Last day of Sunday School for the spring will be held on May 19th. All ages will meet at 9:15 am for our celebration – and our 10:30 am class will have their final class during worship that day. We have some exciting things planned – including having the kids make SandArt jars to help them remember all the places we have “virtually visited” and learned about during our Journey with Jesus this year. We will also have a quiz bowl game to see how much of the year the kids remember. We will take a Sunday School break over the summer months and be back in full swing in the fall. During the summer months Pastor Erica and the CE Committee are working on some ways to actively engage children in the worship service. Watch the bulletins and newsletters for more on this exciting educational and worship experience for our children.
Pastor Erica can be reached by phone, text and email to schedule a meeting time and place that work best for you: 303-503-3821; [email protected]. For pastoral emergencies, call 712-276-3613 and select option #4.

With our Sympathy .. Westminster extends its sympathy to the Jack Holloway family. Joan passed away on March 4th in Tampa, FL. Jack and Joan were long time members of the Westminster family before retiring and moving south. Joan was a very talented craftswoman – creating beautiful quilts and other pieces of art but her “craft” of incredible people skills is what many of us remember so vividly. Jack, please know that the prayers of the Westminster family are with you now as you adjust and move through this time of change. If anyone would like to drop Jack a card ... his address is 704 Citrus Wood Lane – Valrico, FL 33594-3823
